Jazz Vocals

Larisa Montanaro has been performing in clubs, restaurants, and on the concert stage for the past twenty years.  She began singing jazz with a big band while still in high school.
As a teenager, she would sneak into jazz clubs near her hometown in New York and she was often invited to sit-in for a few tunes.  Even then she commanded the attention of her audience.

Larisa took a break from performing jazz in order to study classical singing.  After many years in the concert hall, she returned to her roots.  In 2003, she began singing with the
Dime Store Poets and since then she has added several Austin singer/songwriters to her list of collaborators.  This prompted her to begin singing jazz again.

This new jazz project is the culmination of the past twenty years.  Larisa’s new style is polished and informed by all of the styles that she has performed over the years.  Whether singing the blues, swinging with the band, or delivering a classic torch song, Larisa’s warm soulful voice is right at home.
