The Rust Tones

Much like my induction into the Dime Store Poets, I joined the Rust Tones after being an audience member.  But in this case, I was accompanying my then-boyfriend, now-husband to a gig.  The guys in the band were nice enough to invite me up to sing back-ups on a couple of Band tunes.  A good time was had by all...and I was very surprised when Patrick called me a few months later.  He wanted to add a female vocalist to the band and he remembered me from that night.  One of my gigs was winding-up at that point and it was very well-timed coincidence.  I enjoyed Patrick's funny and funky tunes and the songs they chose to cover, I liked their work ethic ("We don't rehearse and we're out here to have fun.  Period.") and the guys could play, so I accepted their invitation.

We've been having a great time.  We've spent some time on Sixth Street at B.D. Riley's, Nuno's, etc. and we even play at Cedar Street on 4th Street from time to time.  Of course, as a self-dubbed "South Austin band" we need to find some places down south to play.  What can I say?  We're a fun, funky band with a taste of country.  And we'll keep you dancing!
